Let's start:
1. Connect your iPhone 4 to a wi-fi network. No 3G please.
2. Open the Safari browser on your iPhone 4.
3. Go to Jailbreakme.com and jailbreak your iPhone 4. Make sure you have the iPhone firmware 3.1.3 to 4.0. No less than 3.1.3, no 4.x.
4.  Now go to Settings>General>Network and turn off 3G. That's why I asked to used a wi-fi connections in the first step.
5. Now that you have jailbroken, you have 'cydia' installed on your iPhone 4. Press the home button and find 'cydia' in your apps in the springboard.

7. You can't unlock your iPhone 4 with an ultrasn0w version less than 1.0.1. You'd then need to bring over 1.0.1. For that purpose, press the 'Manage' button at the bottom, select Sources>Edit>add. Then type 'repo666.ultrasn0w.com' in the text field without qouts.
8. Reboot your iPhone 4.
9. Go to cydia again, search for ultrasn0w. It must be on version 1.0.1 or higher now.
10. Now press the install button to install ultrasn0w.
11. Your iPhone 4 is now unlocked! Cheers!

WARNING: Apple iPhone Repair Crook Strikes Again! (geohot, iOS, Auckland, Central)

The following is only a story someone emailed me.  Read it for entertainment purpose only.  Any similarity on individual who is dead or alive is purely coincidental.  Name of company, location, road names are fictional and not real.  If you find that you fit the description of the crook in the story, please go and blame your father + mother + your wife or smash every mirror around you.

Please text (021) 02555888 the Support Grouup if you have been victimized or cheated by questionable repair centre.  You will introduce to the victim support group (non-profit and no "$85 inspection fee" required!).  The fictional story is in RED font.

"Mate had forwarded a horrible incident involving an innocent Kiwi iPhone 4 user.  According to the source, the owner purchased a unit of brand new Apple iPhone 4 from an authorized dealer recent.  The crook look very frail and walks like a living-dead, he appears to be Asian but claims to be European (yeah, right!).  One thing the victim notice is that the crook lies each time when he open his mouth and always dished out fake smiles.  The crook in the story is about +40 years old, 170cm, drives a beat up "European" car with shitty paint job. Still living with his father for free rental, food and lodging (with his foreign wife too!).  He had been conning insurance companies (e.g. remove iPhone's motherboard replaced with some metal plate plated, then returned to insurance company saying iPhone is beyond repair).

One thing the victim noticed about the crook was that the Asian-looking con is extremely sleek taking and take advantage of victim's mood (i.e. damaged iPhone by liquid exposure).  The con person can even sell snow to the Eskimos!  It is like pushing a window to sell off her property right after the husband's funeral.

The phone was wet in a drizzle and only problem was not charging properly (digitzer still works, no watermark on LCD, on/off button work fine and volume up/down have no problem).

Since there is not warranty coverage on water damage or impact damaged iPhone. The innocent went to "reputable" repair centre near the city but he was rejected as the "reputable" repair centre as they are NOT capable nor have confidence to fix water damage iPhone.
Very unfortunately, according to the story; the owner was caught up with a pink color "gayish" website who claimed to be an expert in iPhone repair near Mt Eden Road, Auckland Central.

The unlucky customer was cheated and screwed badly:
(1) Charge $85 for non-refundable repair
(2) iPhone 4 work for only 12 hours after owner paid $349 for "water damage" repair.
(3) Story short the iPhone 4 was permanently disable (means "dead") or what the crook claimed it as BEY (Beyond Economical Repair).
(4) Victim also has a record of insurance claim being rejected by insurance company.

The funny thing is that when owner question this crook repair person in Auckland Central, he has the balls to blame it on the "reputable" repair centre near the city!  How it is possible for that to happened?  The "reputable" repair centre never even open or inspected the iPhone 4 to begin with.

Why people are so emotional and gullible?  The avoid being screwed by such con person is not difficult. This is what you do
(1) Do your research, ask your mate about iPhone repair
(2) Search for possible report on "iPhone Repair Crook" on the internet
(3) Get a written and sign repair quote.  Check the IMEI number before and after sending iPhone for repair.
(4) Ask for trade reference, check with reputable Network providers (e.g. Telecom, Vodafone, 2 Degrees mobile) to verify who IS THE ONE that they trust or have dealt with.
(5) Verify with the repair person: what is his technical credential? Where he learn phone repair and unlock? Who are the companies he dealt with.

WARNING:  Your current authorizer seller or even the main importer are still unaware of this crook; even could be using him (they bother to check the background and the internet for safety sake?)

You probably didn't know that there is an enormous sand dune near the Sea of Japan. It's nearly 16km long! It's like a desert, nothing but sand as far as you can see. People make a day of it and take a hike over the dunes, sometimes hopping and jumping from foot to foot as the sand gets really hot! A few adventurous people will bring their sand boards and surf the dunes. It's really quite pretty and vast. The beach is the final destination and it's really refreshing to cool off by swimming or surfing. The serenity of the beach makes the sandy trek well worth the effort. Enjoy in these summer pictures!

Secret Revealed: Oprah Has a Half-Sister!! (Hollywood, news, people, pop, culture, talk-show, hostess, USA)

Oprah Winfrey announced on her show Monday that she has discovered a half-sister Patricia whom she didn't even know she had, because Patricia was secretly given up for adoption in 1963.
According to Huffington Post, Oprah's mother never told Oprah she has a half-sister. Oprah says her mother could not afford to keep Patricia.
Patricia said that she discovered Oprah was her half-sister in 2007 while searching for her birth mother. For the next three years, she was trying to contact Winfrey with the news and finally reached her late last year.
Patricia, who lives in Milwaukee, is believed to be 48 and has two adult children, a daughter and a son. Patricia said that she continued her quest to contact her half-sister so her children could know their aunt.
Patricia and Oprah were publicly reunited on Monday's show, which highlighted video of Oprah and her partner Steadman Graham driving to Milwaukee to meet Patricia. The reunion occurred on Thanksgiving Day last year.
Oprah Winfrey's big family secret? The talk-show queen announced on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' Monday that she has discovered a half-sister, named Patricia, who was secretly given up for adoption in 1963. Patricia, who lives in Milwaukee, said that she discovered Oprah was her half-sister while searching for her birth mother in 2007. She spent the next three years trying to contact Winfrey with the news and finally reached her late last year. They met on Thanksgiving Day.

Winfrey was 9 and living with her father, Vernon Winfrey, in 1963 and said she had no idea her mother, Vernita Lee, was even pregnant. According to Winfrey, her mother could not afford to keep Patricia.
In a confusing twist, Winfrey's previously known half-sister, who passed away in 2003, was also named Patricia and lived in Milwaukee. Oprah said that her mom did not name the daughter she gave away and that it was just a coincidence.
Patricia is believed to be 48 and has two adult children, a son and a daughter, meaning Winfrey has a niece and nephew to add to the family as well. Patricia said that she continued her quest to contact Winfrey so her children could know their aunt.
Winfrey praised her half-sister for not going to the press with the story.
It's been a revelatory year for Oprah Winfrey, who, as her legendary talk show winds down its 25th and final year on the air, has stepped out of her comfort zone to address a number of rumors about herself, including talk that her friendship with Gayle King is actually a romantic relationship and her thoughts of suicide as a teenager after she learned of an unwanted pregnancy.

"I was given some news that literally shook me to my core. This time, I'm the one being reunited," Winfrey said in advertisements for today's episode of 'Oprah.' "I was keeping a family secret for months, and on Monday you're going to hear it straight from me."
Earlier Monday, BlackVoices.com reported that Winfrey learned sometime around Thanksgiving of last year that her mother had another daughter. Winfrey, 56, believed for years that she was her parents' only surviving child after her two younger siblings, Jeffrey and Patricia, passed away.
As soon as Winfrey announced that she would reveal "news that literally shook me to my core" about "a family secret," the Internet lit up with speculation. "There has been speculation in the past that Vernon Winfrey is not her biological father," In Touch Weekly Senior Editor Amy Palmer told CBS News, "so this is something people are saying it could be."
Others -- including Kitty Kelley, who famously wrote an unauthorized biography of Winfrey last year -- had been correctly claiming that Winfrey would reveal a long-lost family member.

Apple to use Multi-Touch Gesture instead of Home Button on iPhone 5 and iPad 2 (Tech, news, report, update, repair, unlock)

If the sources at BGR are true then, at last the design that was being carried out from the first iPhone to iPhone 4 and iPad would be modified according to Apple. Yeah !! we are talking about the Home Button. Apple would no longer be using the Home Button on iPhone 5 and iPad 2. They are going to add multi-touch gestures for iPad and iPhone in the latest iOS 4.3 beta.
According to BGR:  This beta release(iOS 4.3) contains a preview of new Multi-Touch gestures for iPad. You can use four or five fingers to pinch to the Home Screen; swipe up to reveal the multitasking bar; and swipe left or right between apps.
Moreover BGR folks also said that they came to know from the sources that Apple employees are already testing iPad and iPhone with multi-touch gestures on the Apple Campus.
If Apple is already testing this, we can see the change in the iPad 2 which is set to launch in the year 2011. As Steve Jobs does not like the physical button on the iPhone so he may soon get his wish.
Do write us in the comments section below that how do you find this change ? Are you people fine with the physical home button on iPhone and the iPad or want multi-touch gesture ?

The man who drowned to death at a lifeguard's party

In September of 1985, there was a celebration held at a New Orleans municipal pool. The party was being held in order to celebrate the first summer in memory without a drowning at the pool. In honor of the occasion, two hundred people gathered, including one hundred certified lifeguards. As the party was breaking up and the four lifeguards on duty began to clear the pool, they found a fully dressed body in the deep end. They tried to revive Jerome Moody, 31, but it was too late. He had drowned surrounded by lifeguards celebrating their successful season.

The man who sued the Guinness Book of Records over 'most lawsuits' claim

A man who keeps suing people is suing the Guinness Book of World Recordsfor saying that he's sued the most people ever. Jonathan Lee Riches is thought to have filed over 4,000 lawsuits around the world against various people, entities, objects and concepts.
In a boldly ironic move, he has now filed a lawsuit against the Guinness Book of World Records, hoping to get an injunction against them naming him as the world's most litigious man in their 2010 edition. 'The Guinness Book ofWorld Records has no right to publish my work, my legal masterpieces,' he says in the legal filing. He is also unhappy about the nicknames they apparently plan to ascribe to him, including 'Sue-per-man', 'the duke of lawsuits' and 'Johnny Sue-nami'. Previous targets of his legal ire have included George W. Bush, Che Guevara, Perez Hilton, the Eiffel Tower, Britney Spears, Adolf Hitler's Nazi party, Google, the Roman Empire, The Queen, the Magna Carta, the Wu-Tang Clan, Plato, Emilio Estevez and Nordic Gods.
