The iPhone has been the most sought after mobile phone with each release. And now with the 3Gs in the market its time to compare the two. Apple says that the added "S" stands for speed and the 3Gs does seem to sport a lot of speed improvements over the 3G. At first glance, there is almost nothing different about the two. Apple has decided to retain the winning iPhone look while managing to squeeze the improvements in.

The 3Gs comes equipped with a 600Mhz ARM processor which is better than the 412Mhz processor of the 3G. This added processing power allows users to run applications without any noticeable lags or freezes. The radio has also been upgraded in the 3Gs. Where the 3G can only achieve 3.6mbps, the 3Gs can reach the maximum of speed offered by the HSDPA technology which is 7.2mbps. These blazing internet speeds mean faster browsing and downloads for 3Gs users who live in areas with HSDPA.

The camera in the 3Gs is also an improvement of the old camera of the 3G. It no has a 3 megapixel sensor instead of a 2.0 megapixel. Apple also added video recording support in the 3Gs, a feature that 3G owners sorely missed since most mobile phones already support video recording at the time of the iPhone.

On the software side, Apple added extra features to keep the customers happy. The first is OpenGL ES 2.0 support which is an improvement over the 1.1 version supported by the 3G. This means that the 3Gs can draw images better which give app developers an additional tool to work with. Voice control has also been added to the 3Gs, a feature that lets you control your iPhone with the sound of your voice. There is also a compass application that is supported with an embedded magnetic compass. This allows you to use your iPhone just like a compass in case you get lost.

HOW TO: Downgrade 06.15.00 Baseband to 05.13 on iPhone 3G (jailbreak, mod, modding, Auckland iPhone Repair Crook)

Do you want to kill off your iPhone yourself?  There are heaps of "free professional advice" (yearh, right; like the iPhone repair crook in Auckland Central) and "power tips" on the net.  Below is a sample in RED font, please do not use the instruction as it will kill off your iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 in the matter of seconds...Any way, if you do, please contact us to help you!

Most of iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users updated their baseband to iPad's one which is 06.15.00 to be able to unlock it. It's not possible to restore using stock firmware on iPad's baseband so you can downgrade to baseband 05.13.xx which is unlockable using ultrasn0w and you'll be able also to restore using stock firmware on this baseband.

This method is not official from the iPhone Dev Team. They are still working on an easy-method to downgrade 06.15.00 baseband to lower ones on both iPhone 3G / 3GS. This method works only on iPhone 3G bootloader 5.8. Follow the steps as mentioned on RedmondPie below:

Here's what you will need:

- Jailbroken iPhone 3G

- Fuzzyband installed via Cydiaafc2add installed via Cydia

- i-FunBox (for Windows) or DiskAid (for Mac)

- Certificate to use with Fuzzyband.

And the step by step procedure is as follows:

-Download the required certificate file ICE2-06.15.00.cert from here.

-Install Fuzzyband from Cydia and start this app.

-Connect your iPhone 3G with computer via USB cable.

-Start i-FunBox and click File, then navigate to Applications/Fuzzyband.app, right-click and then select Copy from PC.

-Select the ICE2-06.15.00.cert file you downloaded earlier and then copy it to this location:Applications/Fuzzyband.app.

-Now simply disconnect your iPhone from your computer and start Fuzzyband app (which you previously installed using Cydia) on your iPhone.

-In Fuzzyband, you will now see your current version of Baseband, (which should still be 06.15.00). But now you will have the option to downgrade it to version 05.13.xx.

Once you have downgraded, Go to Settings –> About, and scroll down to check your Baseband which should now read 05.13.xx (which is unlockable via Ultrasn0w). You can now also update or restore any firmware without iTunes throwing errors.

Few moment ago we broke the news about the release of Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad with working MobileSubstrate, as we told you earlier that redsn0w 0.9.6b4  is based on GeoHot's limera1n bootrom exploit.

The bad new is that right now, the redsn0w 0.9.6b4 is a tethered or semi-tethered jailbreak for some devices (i.e. you will lose your jailbreak every time you reboot your iDevice, so you have to follow the following steps every reboot to have a jailbroken device )

GUIDE:

- Download redsn0w 0.9.6b4,  iOS 4.2.1 for your device(download links at the end).

- Update to 4.2.1 firmware using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 10.1.

- Select "Install Cydia" and click on "Next"

- Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click "Next".

- At this stage you will need to put your iPhone in DFU mode by holding "Power" button and then while holding the "Power" button, you will now have to hold "Home" button too. Now after few seconds release "Power" button but keep holding "Home" button until installation begins.

- You will Get a Jailbroken Device on the latest iOS 4.2.1  as soon as the process ends.

-  This step is only for these devices iPhone 4, 3GS (New Bootrom), iPod touch 4G,  3G, 2G, iPad. While this is tethered jailbreak and whenever you want to do anything related to jailbreak like SSH your device, or running Cydia, you must first run your device in the so called "jailbroken state" on every reboot by using "Just boot tethered right now" option. 

Download iOS 4.2.1 (Final version) for your device version.

Download Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 for Windows and Mac

Download iTunes 10.2.1

How to Unlock Your iPhone 4.2.1 with UltraSn0w (Auckland, Apple, Crook, Criminal, "Auckland Central")

Our advice to you is DON'T DO IT.  This is how the semi-pro in Auckland Central killed off innocent customer's expensive Apple iPhone 4G.

The following is the typical information on unlocking show in red font (please do not try that at home, you will kill off your iPhone 4 and we will not be responsible. You have been warned not to use the information to wreck your phone!).  

The Dev Team has updated their UltraSn0w iPhone unlock for iOS 4.2.1. UltraSn0w 1.2 will unlock iPhone 4 baseband 01.59.00 and iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and now 06.15.00.

If your iPhone 4 is not on baseband 01.59.00, you will not be able to unlock it. If your iPhone 3G or 3GS is on one of the baseband version mentioned above, then you can follow the instructions below…

If your iPhone 3G or 3GS is not on one of the baseband version mentioned above, you will have to first update your baseband to 06.15.00. See our Pwnage Tool Tutorial or RedSnow to do this.

This process doesn't come without its share of risks, so it is very important you read thisbefore doing anything. Seriously, make sure you read it.

Step 1: Make sure your iPhone is jailbroken using Pwnage Tool or RedSnoW

Step 2: Launch Cydia, and search for UltraSn0w.

Step 3: Reboot your iPhone.

Your iPhone is now unlocked. There is no real way to test it until you pop a different SIM card in.

He is a sly crook with extremely well-oiled tongue.  He will charge you $50 or $85 (depending on how innocent you are) to "try to unlock" but will not guarantee it will work. Then he will use your iPhone 4 as a guinea pig to do the unlocking.  According to sources, this dodgy crook operates from a run-down "high-tech" lot, looks like cheap a $2 dollar shop (a fat China lady is alway hanging around for what purpose, no one knows!).

Once he kills the iPhone 4, he will start to blame the world, God, his dog.  Upon which, he will be driving around Auckland hunting for repair centres to save his ass (most of the time this failed as there is no known solution yet for 4.2.1 unlock on iPhone 4G).

How to catch an iPhone Thief via Email bcc (tech, news, report, Apple, iPad, Auckland)

His anti-theft solution was both simple and ingenious at the same time; the person has simply set up his e-mail address to be Blind Carbon Copied on all outgoing e-mails from his iPhone.

And, after his iPhone got stolen, he received some BCC's of e-mails of someone e-mailing photos of himself — using the stolen iPhone– sent to the person's friends.

The recipients of those e-mails were e-mailed, asked who was the one that sent them those photos, and warned that police would be involved next.  Miraculously (or not), the missing iPhone was returned the next day…

Loser Rejected Four Times to for phone repair dealership! (news, crook, criminal, Auckland Central, iPhone)

According to our source, a rogue iPhone repair crook had been rejected outright not one or two times, but FOUR (4) times in two weeks to be a dealer for phone repair in Oakland.

Three little birds said most victims had been sharing information on this LOSER who cheated iPhone customers (e.g. swap motherboard, charge $85 to "inspect" iPhone that he cannot unlock in Oakland, USA!)

The victims share with my mate that this sick-looking "iPhone repair" crook in Oakland looks like an AIDS patient and lies like hell.  He is know to be married an illegal migrant from overweight China woman is wanted by the American Boarder Patrol Services.

Some factors of the rejection are:
(1) He operates he run-down "repair centre" from a $2 Shop in the shaddy part of town
(2) Bad track record on screwing big companies in Oakland to repair iPhones (failure rate is at 95%).
(3) Is not a honest person and DO NOT know how to repair iPhone or unlock iPhone beyond version 3.1.3

We wonder there is such an LOSER in Auckland, New Zealand that behave like that?  Search on google, facebook, mypsace, twitter and blogs and you might find out something.  Oh, yes; this loser always hang around a short Asian man; another loser who claims that he is the nephew of the Taiwan Presiden (yeah, the one in jail now, right?)  Well, birds of the same feather flock together!

Mate emailed us that a think looking Asean person (can't tell "it" is a man or woman) had been stalking around houses in Northcote area between January 2nd to 11th January, 2011.  According to witness, this chap like to hid beside rubbish bins or bushes and looked into victim's house.  No one is sure what the person is up to.  What witness said this person look weak and moved like a walking-dead.  "It" was spotted driving a white Japanese junk car or a beat-up dark blue European car with shitty pain work.  Hope he will keep on stalking on the two particular houses in North Shore as authorities is actively looking for him now.

Vidafone Apple iPhone 4G with Cracked Screen

Samsung Galaxy S i9000 Killed by Idiot

A furious customer gave his expensive Samsung Galaxy S i9000 to us today. He claimed that a dodgy and cheap-looking place in Auckland stuffed up his Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. Owner said phone cannot turn on, but the idiot charge him $180 to upgrade software. After which, owner said phone turn on but stucked on startup mode and cannot turn on completely.

Our technical findings:
Battery was flat and needs to be booted up
There us no need to upgrade the Android firmware
Wrong software used to upgrade the firmware (which has got nothing to do the battery!)

The final solution:
Battery booted up, recondition to original state and working condition
Loaded new Android firmware

The Ending:
Client happy with our service and advice

- Next Action:
The client will be filing Police report at Auckland Central for repair fraud and willful destruction if property
-Forward then police to Ministry of Justice

- Check his immigration status or people related to him

Loser threatened "You know, I can kill him?" (funny, humor, story, Missouri, USA)

January 9th, 2010: After I received a funny story my old dorm buddy from Missouri State University, MO. 63701 yesterday; I almost choke from laughing!  Mindy was a year older than me back in college and we are still best of friends.

WARNING: This is only a story from the USA.  If you are outside the USA and feel that that character fits you, then you go and blame your father or mother.  If not, go and get help; you REALLY REALLY need it.

Mindy Smith of Jackson, Missouri, USA had forward us some funny material about a sick looking Asian guy.  It was a couple of days ago near the Landings, St Louis, Missouri;  they were at the park and overheard some conversation right in the middle of winter of Missouri.

It was cold winter day in Missouri and Mindy was not wearing her ear muffs so she can hear quite a bit.  She said that a weird looking Asian guy dressed in pink (he look very fragile as the body is covered with skin only, weight about 85lbs).  It seems that this thin Asian guy is a mental patient as he shows extreme mood swing (e.g. typical behavioral bipolar swing, a strong sign of bipolar schizophrenia).  The other strange thing is that this Asian guy's eyes look like dead fish's eyes!  You know, like those dead fish you can find in the Missippi River fish market in the heartland of America.

This thin LOSER were talking loud about hurting someone (the discussion was about an ex-Marine who is a professional MMA fighter in the USA!).  To spice things up, his fat Asian wife was slapping his tiny head (or we call it bird brain) as he was shouting in public that he wants to kills someone "easily". My, oh my, Mindy was thinking to herself..."oh, how scare are we?  I am normal American woman and weight twice as much as that SICK Asian man").

It could be that this lunatic skinny LOSER had had suffer mental issue due to child birth condition or childhood scars, perhaps.  The funny thing is that LOSER dress himself in pink from head to toe.  Mindy noticed that when he was barking like a dog in the cold winter day at the Landings, Missouri; he even rolled up his sleeves and showed his muscle.  Unfortunately, Mindy do not have a digital camera handy; so she sent a picture that illustrate how that thin LOSER Asian behaves.

Out of the sudden, Mindy hear that fast and stupid looking Asian lady scolding the think LOSER in broken English:
"If you great, why not make more money? We shit now, staying with your fcuking father. You stupid dog, still drive your mother's car?"
"You great, ah? No cheat people, go make some honest money!"
"How can your shitty small body kill people? Stop fcuking around, bast**d you".
Instantly, the "raging bull" shrunk into sick-looking dead person.  Guess that fat China lady said the truth and hurt the LOSER and wake him up to reality.

According to health science professionals, people like this sick-looking LOSER has very low self-esteem and their type tend to lie or cheat people around him.  To make up their ego, they usually marry fat foreign woman (one is to feel save and two is cut down communication or nagging, perhaps). This type of patient usually cannot be independent, trust nobody, have gloomy views about life and tend to hide or run away from reality.  Aside from that, they fantasize in their little world and hope that things will change according to their wish.  A clear sign is that, such type of person tends to show extremely pleasant from, pretends to be average an average Joe and spills a lot of small talks or lies to impress people around them.   On top of that, they tend to hurt people or kill people's character when other are performing better than them.  So, we all have to watch out for sick-minded people, especially they look like "waling-skeletons" or HIV Positive carriers in the United States of America.

All in all, it is funny how some people are so stupid to talk, give threat in public area of America.  Gosh, when can we stop taking in stupid people in this Great Nation? We have bunch of clowns to deal with now in Washington D.C."

Hello World!  My old college buddy forward me a funny story from United States and I would like to share with you all in New Zealand.  Character and location are changed to protect the privacy of the individual.  If you are a loser in life (e.g. +41 years old, still stay with the father, driving mother's car, married a fat women from the third world), a failed business owner or even a crook; do not feel offended, it is a story; you just have to wake up and smell the coffee.

Something weird happened yesterday, my partner and I was shopping at Orange County. Upon buying all the things we needed we went to the car park.  we noticed that there was a skinny chap, looks pale on his brown skin and too thin to be true (an adult weights around 85 pounds, that is less than my dog!). He was in a rather loud and heatediscussion with another cunning looking Latino dude at the car park.
The skinny loser, was really funny, during his conversation, he tried to "enlarge" his frame to show dominance over the other chap (imagine, a frail-looking almost a walking-dead tried to scare people off!). I WTF is wrong with this person, looking very sick and possibly an AIDS carrier trying to impress other with his freaking skeletal body!

He was mumbling about so-and-so's ability to compose and publish blogs on the net.  Possibly due to minimal education or dropped out of high school (he boasted that he has a Master's degree from Harvard at the car park; yeah, righ!).  Due to limited brain power or understanding of how the world works; this loser was shouting like "who will read his blog".  No one at the car park know what this wild skinny dog was shouting about right in the middle of K-Mart's park in Orange County, CA, USA.  He needs help bad as he shows the acute of bipolar swing.  Poor bastard, he might had done eveil things to other repeatedly and now getting pay back.

Out of curiosity, my colleague and I search for blogging information and came out with an interesting picture.  No one know if that picture was meant for the sick freako who looked like a damn big LOSER in life.  The figures tells it all, the best is bloggers now link each posting to twitter, share link on facebook, discuss topics on worldwide forum. The best part is it will arouse curiosity of both the victims of crime and authorities (e.g. Law enforcement agencies, L.A. Sheriff's Department, Justice Department, US Immigration Services).  The beauty is the blogger will bridge all these parties to communicate, to exchange data, gather evidence, file police case and initial criminal charge proceeding).  If that LOSER have half a brain, he should be careful of shit he spilled out from his dog mouth, eh?
