Can you guess what phone in the picture is? It’s my current phone, I bought this phone in October 2003 and I’ve never bought new phone since then. Yes, it’s Nokia 3530, it can MMS and able to store 500 contact numbers in its internal memory, that’s still more than enough. All the parts are still original except the broken casing and the battery. Don’t you think I don’t want to buy new phone? I really want it but I’m waiting the new thing, something revolutionary. It could be iPhone (which still unavailable in my country) or Android powered phone, whichever come first.

Symbian Belle arriving on older Symbian devices in early-2012

Owners of the Nokia N8, E7, X7, C6-01, C7, Oro, E6, and 500 will have to wait a bit longer for the Symbian Belle update because as it turns out, you won't be getting it any time this year.

According to All About Symbian, Nokia said that these devices will be treated to Symbian Belle sometime in early-2012. Earlier it was expected that the update will be released before the end of this year but that clearly does not seem to be the case anymore.
Nokia did not specify what 'early-2012' means but it is generally assumed that it will be around February 2012, thanks to some of Nokia's Facebook pages. Although this may not apply to all devices in every region.

Quad-speaker Nokia X7-00 leaks on video, runs on Symbian^3 (tech, news, report, leak, preview, Auckland, launch)

Nokia X7-00 is the next device to join the Symbian^3 gang. A leaked video shows a touch-based device with four speakers and similar hardware and software like the C7.  http://tiny.cc/x700

Additional information can be unearthed from the Czech forum, which is the source behind the leak. It seems that the Nokia X7-00 processor, graphics and RAM is the same as those of N8.
As you can see Nokia X7-00 also has the similar measurements and screen size, but again the camera department is less than stellar - a fixed-focus 8 megapixel camera plus a dual-LED flash. It's unclear whether the screen will be a ClearBlack AMOLED or the AMOLED used in C7.

Anyway, the most interesting thing about the X7-00 is the four speakers it's got one in each corner. We are sure lots of music geeks will appreciate this.
We guess the official announcement should take place soon.

Nokia unleashes its short movie, shot exclusively on the Nokia N8 (tech, news, report, update, leaked, Auckland)

Nokia presents The Commuter, a funny short film, starring "Slumdog Millionaire" Dev Patel with a cameo by Pam Anderson. Beside the stellar cast, the other thing that's intriguing about the flick is the fact it's shot exclusively on the Nokia N8.

The Commuter is yet another proof of the Nokia N8 camcorder skills. Well, contrast could have been better in some scenes but still, you can hardly tell that the 720p HD movie was shot with a mobile phone.

Now, get the pop corn and dim the lights, will you?
ust don't expect you can grab a Nokia N8 and go shoot something like that. The team behind the movie has used some expensive pro-level accessories. We bet they've used at least a tripod with a fluid video head, a steadicam-type stabilizer adapted for cameraphone use and some specialized video lighting.

Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition warms up the UK for the movie

As trekkies dust off their costumes and prepare them for the long wait in line for the premiere of J.J. Abrams' reboot, Nokia are offering something to help them accessorize - Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition. It will come preloaded with Trek-related content like a phaser app, which will definitely help fend of people with lightsabre applications. The Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition will be available in the usual color versions - red, blue and black/silver. Remember now, red uniforms are for tactical/engineering, blue are for science officers and silver… Okay, here our treknoledge betrays us. Other content that will come preloaded with the Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition includes Trek wallpapers, screensavers and exclusive ringtones including "Phazer Shot", "Red Alert" and "Kelvin Communicator". Nokia 5800 Star Trek edition will be available in the UK starting May 1st for free with a 25-pounds-a-month contract with either Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile or Orange. It's just in time for the movie, which opens on the 8th of May. Another interesting 5800-related piece of news today is that the phone will launch with Nokia's Comes With Music service in Brazil. During the first month after the launch, it will be available only through Brazilian operator TIM. There's heavy accent placed on Brazilian artists with several domestic labels signed up to deliver content. The phone will be offered for 399 Brazil reais (181 US dollars) with an unlimited data plan. Some promotion-related perks offered by TIM include two months of free download of content and free access to the Internet and email. Nokia 5800 Comes With Music is available in Brazilian stores starting today and everyone who preordered from the online store should get theirs by the end of the week.
