iPhone 5 to put Samsung Galaxy S III to shame, says manufacturer (Apple, repair, unlock, broken, screen, replcfement

iPhone 5 to put Samsung Galaxy S III to shame, says manufacturer. iPhone 5, Apple, Foxconn, Phones, Samsung, Samsung Galaxy S III 0
Foxconn chief Terry Gou is urging customers out to get the very best smartphone to wait for the release of the iPhone 5. The manufacturer of Apple's new iPhone told China Times: "The new model will put Samsung's Galaxy S III to Shame."

During the annual shareholder's meeting of the Hon Hai Precision Industry Co (trading as Foxconn), Gou suggested that with his company's marketing and manufacturing expertise combined with Sharp's key technologies - namely in the display arena - they will be able to completely defeat Samsung in the next three to five years.

And specifically he called for smartphone buyers to hold on at least until later this year, calling on "consumers to wait for the launch of the iPhone 5".

There is no love lost between Hon Hai and Samsung, with Gou previously accusing the Korean company of "snitching on its competitors". In 2010, Samsung is claimed to have given up the names of four Taiwanese manufacturers in a flat panel display price-fixing investigation, itself being made exempt from any further action as a "tainted witness".

Therefore, you can probably take what Gou says with a pinch of salt. However, he also stated during the shareholder's meeting that his company had an exclusivity agreement with Gorilla Glass maker Corning Inc, and that "his competitors will not be able to secure any such material if they wished to". That gives the iPhone 5 (and other products made by Foxconn) at least one advantage over competitors.

Apple iPhone 4S: iOS 5 finally gets an untethered jailbreak, public availability coming soon

gsmarena 001 iOS 5 finally gets an untethered jailbreak, public availability coming soon [VIDEO]Ever since Apple released iOS 5, a lot of its users have been waiting for an untethered jailbreak to come up. Well, it appears that the long wait is about be over as we got a video from the Chronic Dev Team that demonstrates a working untethered jailbreak solution.

The French hacker going by the name of ThePod2g announced that he found a bug that could be used for the jailbreak about a month ago and now he and his team have already found a way to utilize it. The exploit is available on both iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1, so there shouldn’t be any problem jailbreaking either of them.
The hacker promised to test the jailbreak solution on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 (which he doesn’t have) as soon as he get the chance, but everything should work fine on Apple’s latest iDevices.

The untethered jailbreak isn’t ready for public use just yet and there’s no exact timeframe given for that happening, but it shouldn’t take too long.

Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 now seeding to HTC Incredible S (tech, news, report, update, Auckland)

HTC has just started seeding the latest firmware update for their Incredible S Android smartphone. It's quite a major bump, bringing the Android version up to 2.3.5 and the Sense UI 3.0.
Reports about the over-the-air update have been coming from several parts of Europe, though it's not a global thing yet and some regions are still left in the dry. We also don't have an exact changelog so we don't know if anything changed backstage.
Still, the UI changes alone are enough to make it a worthy update, so you might want to keep an eye on that notification bar in the following days. You can also perform a manual check to see if the update has been made available to you by going to:
Settings -> About phone -> Software Updates and clicking Check Now.

We also got word that the same update package is coming to the HTC Desire HD in the near future. It's good to know that HTC hasn't forgotten all about its former flagship now that it has released the new wave of high-end droids.
