Some Curious Facts About Bill Gates
We can easily guess what you already know about Bill Gates – that he’s the richest American (second richest person in the world now), that he’s a co-founder of the highly successful technical company, that he’s very generous and donates a lot of money for charity. But we bet you have not heard the facts we collected in this post.
1. 85% of the world’s population makes less than $200 a month. Bill Gates makes $290 per second.
His wealth never stops growing and he’s becoming richer and richer.
2. Bill Gates said that he always gives the laziest people the hardest jobs, because they’ll find the easiest way to do it.
He prefers to work smarter, not harder.
3. Arrogant, bullying, Ruthless, Stubborn. Just a few of the many words former and present-day colleagues say when describing Bill Gates.
He can be conniving and stingy, yet extremely generous.
4. As of April 2010, Bill Gates had donated over $36,854,000,000 in his lifetime, which is almost half of his current net worth of $79 billion.
And he even did much more – he convinced his billionaire peers (Mark Zuckerberg, Ted Turner, Warren Buffett, and George Lucas included) to join him and donate majority of their money for charity.
5. If Bill Gates dropped a 1,000 dollar bill he’d make it back in about 3 and a half seconds.
His annual income is about 82 billion dollars.
6. Bill Gates has an Genius IQ of 160. Which is what Albert Einstein had.
Psychologists were stunned by his mental abilities when he was only 4.
7. Bill Gates will only leave less than $10,000,000 for each of his 3 children, “So they can make their own way.”
Instead of leaving money to their children Bill and Melinda are going to give it to their foundation focusing on poor health and poverty.
8. At a spending rate of $1 million everyday, it would take Bill Gates about 218 years to spend all of his money.
Bill says it’s normal for people to want a million dollars, but according to him when one goes beyond that he realizes it does not change anything considerably.
9. Bill Gates has enough money to send every single 18-year-old person in the country, to a 4 year college.
But he surely does not have to respond for every person in the country less fortunate and smart then he is.
10. Bill Gates changed his school’s program codes so he was placed in class with mostly female students.
The high school’s scheduling program written by Bill brought him to an English class full of girls.

Superlight and Supersharp folding knife -- credit card size!
Sometime ago we did a post on the amazing CardSharp by Iain Sinclair. Well, Iain Sinclair Design wanted us to check out the new improved version of the superlight and supersharp utility knife, the CardSharp2. The James Bond style credit card sized pocket knife has some new and updated features, it has a stiffer, polypropylene body (living hinges guaranteed for life), and a unique safety lock (cannot open in pocket or drawer and child proof).
With just three ingenious origami style folding operations, metamorphosise the card into an elegant pocket utility tool. Slimmer and lighter than an ordinary knife, it´s extra long stainless steel surgical blade ensures longer lasting rust free sharpness. The superlight polypropylene body includes a built-in protective sheath that helps prevent injury or blunting. CardSharp2 is an ingenious conversation piece. A sharp idea that slips safely inside your wallet or kit bag.
Suitable for camping and expedition use, Cardsharp is an essential outdoor companion/survival tool. The waterproof design is dishwasher proof and will not rust up like conventional penknives - uniquely friction free as there are no conventional hinges.
We must say, we tested this thing on a variety of materials, and man...it is sharp! This is a must have for gadget lovers, just pack the 13-gram bladed perfection into your wallet and you e ready to go!
LIGHTWEIGHT - 13 grams (regular Stanley® type utility knife weighs around 150 grams, Leatherman® same sized blade knife weighs around 85 grams, smallest Victorinox® Swiss Army penknife weighs around 23 grams).
ULTRA THIN - 2.2 mm thick (traditional Stanley® utility knife body thickness is around 25 mm).
RAZOR SHARP - Surgical blade technology with extra long 65mm cutting edge ensures longer lasting sharpness (Stanley® utility knife blade edge is only 25mm long). Blade made from high quality rust free stainless steel. Independent testing laboratory; CATRA awarded Cardsharp penknife; VERY GOOD status for sharpness (ICP mm) and life (TCC mm). Blade color choice: Teflon Black or Natural Brushed Stainless Steel.
SAFETY - Blade edge is protected when stored in wallet, drawer, or kit bag which avoids accidents and blunting (blunting often caused by rubbing against other knives or tools). Integral blade sheath cannot be lost. Protective hilt appears when opened. When docked in closed position, design prevents injury. Cannot fold accidentally (as some folding pocket knives). Blade is locked solidly in open, cutting mode with no blade tremor allowing accurate precision cutting.
WATERPROOF - Machine washable with no hinged parts to rust up like ordinary folding pocket knives.
ECO FRIENDLY - Lightness and flatness reduces storage and shipping costs including carbon footprint. Simple two part construction with automated assembly saves manufacturing waste.
PERMUTABILITY - Highly suitable for customization by pad printing or invisible label (printed 1-4 color lithographic) and/or custom laser engraving blade - please email us if you have a promotion inquiry).
PACKAGING - Various options available including slimline card eco-pack for gift/mail order and harder sell retail design with euro hook
LEGAL - Blade is under 3” (76 mm) and is visible when closed so easily identifiable as a knife (optional clear body versions show blade from both sides - P.O.A). Note: legal restrictions vary internationally.

Android, Apple iPhone 4: What is Super WiFi? (Tech, news, report, Auckland, "iPhone Repair")
The FCC just cleared a path for a new generation of "Super Wi-Fi" technologies. Sounds great! But what the heck is Super Wi-Fi? http://tiny.cc/superwifi
Super Wi-Fi is still Wi-Fi...
It's not as though Super Wi-Fi is some entirely alien concept. For all intents and purposes, it's Wi-Fi! The same kind of wireless data transmission you use around your apartment or at the office or waiting in line at Starbucks. It's just much, much more powerful.
...but on a new spectrum...
As John explained previously, pretty much all Wi-Fi activity takes place on the same 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequencies. For the first time in 25 years, though, the FCC has opened up a sizable new block of unlicensed spectrum, this time between 50MHz and 700MHz.
...that lives in between your TV channels...
Ever since television went entirely digital, folks like Google have been lobbying, literally, to free up the airwaves between channels. The so-called "white spaces" would otherwise have been lying around unused or been subject to prohibitive regulatory precautions.
...that's much more powerful than what we have today...
Unlike current Wi-Fi airwaves, whose reach can be measured in feet, the spectrum that would carry Super Wi-Fi would be able to travel for several miles because of that lower frequency. Through brick walls, even—something your Linksys really struggles with. You can also anticipate download speeds of 15Mbps to 20Mbps—about as fast as a cable modem.
...that shouldn't interfere with your regularly scheduled programming...
Back in 2008, when the white space plan was first approved, the biggest concern was that using these airwaves for data transmission could interfere with TV signals. To mitigate those fears, white space devices will be required to query a special geolocation database, ensuring no signals are crossed.
...and that will have (literally) far-reaching benefits...
The advantages are already apparent. Google, for instance, already has a trial running in a Logan, Ohio hospital that's giving first responders and the hospital grounds alike super-speedy broadband. Wilmington, NC uses white-space to send real-time feeds from traffic and security cameras. And eventually, you would potentially be able to access your home Wi-Fi from several blocks away.
...though maybe not for a while.
So far, most of what we know about how the white space will be used is based on conjecture. There may be some proof-of-concept devices early next year at CES, and there may be more mass production of products in a year or two. But the first Super Wi-Fi projects are likely to be medical, municipal, large-scale. How long it takes for us to be always connected from anywhere and anything? That's up to the inventors and entrepreneurs to decide.
