What is a Humanzee?

Oliver was called the ‘Humanzee’ and came to widespread public attention in 1976. The reason was because of his humanlike behaviour, preferring to walk on hindlegs, sit cross legged on a chair, help with chores around the house, etc. Besides that his small bald head and reduced prominence of his jaws yielded a humanoid appearance. Taken to Japan, in the mid 1970s blood tests showed that Oliver had 47 chromosomes – one more than humans, one less than chimps.

In autumn 1996, Chicago University geneticist Dr David Ledbetter revealed that Oliver had 48 chromosomes and later on, DNA analysis expert Dr John from Texas’s Trinity University also concluded that Oliver had 48 too and therefore dispelling the myth of Oliver being a mutant.

How many billion is Facebook worth in 2012 and is it heading against Google?

Facebook is now growing faster than ever as with its current funding and worth.

The social networking site had gained a new funding that is worth $500 million: Goldman Sachs gave $450 million while Russian investment firm Digital Sky Technologies have $50 million. Aside from that, it has gained more than $800 million from previous five fundings and when totalled, they have raised $1.3 billion. And now that we have seen the fundings, how much do you think it’s worth.

Facebook-worth-50-billion

Well, according to The New York Times, Facebook’s value is now worth a whopping $50 billion! Whew! Way, way bigger than other Internet establishments. But it does not end there.

When Goldman Sachs sealed the deal with FB, it promised that it will help raise $1.5 billion by creating a “special purpose vehicle” that will allow other people to invest on the biggest social networking site in the Internet. When this happens, it will help Facebook bypass the SEC regulation which requires companies with more than 499 investors to reveal to the public their financial statements.

Now that we know what Facebook is worth and how much they have gained, we ask now? What will they do with that big money they have now?

Well, we all know that Google is FB’s greates rival now as well as Microsoft. One of the theories that people are thinking is that it might use $2 billion of its new funding to cash out on its investors and employees. Second is all about the growth of Facebook. Since we’re pretty sure they want to beat Google as the bigges internet company, there might be plans on getting an expansion and hiring more employees.

In terms of expansion, one trusted source tells that it plans to purchase the Sun Microsystems campus in Menlo park, California from Oracle Corporation to have more room for their future plans. When it comes to hiring, Facebook should really do this as they only have around 2000 employees, which is very small for company that serves 500 million users and is worth $50 billion. This is one thing that they need to revamp in order to beat Google. Then it will also use its other funding for new acquisitions in 2011.

We hope Facebook will also feature new products since their rivals have already done that and are ruling the web more. Expansions such as emails, ads displays, news and more are what we expect Facebook will do to expand. They should not only focus on social networking and reach out to other markets as well. This is something to look forward to.

BOSTON (AP) — Police say a man who was viewing child pornography on a domestic airline flight from Salt Lake City to Boston has been arrested.

Massachusetts State Police say 47-year-old Grant Smith was sitting in first class Saturday afternoon when a fellow passenger saw the pornographic images on Smith’s laptop and alerted the flight crew.

When the Delta flight landed at Boston Logan International Airport just after 4 p.m., troopers interviewed Smith and subsequently arrested him.

He has been charged with possession of child pornography, and police say additional charges could follow. His bail is set at $15,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

Smith was in police custody Saturday night and couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

2012 Business News: Guess who get 99% of the total mobile phone profits

Looks like it's a grim time to be a mobile phone manufacturer if you are not Apple or Samsung. According to the latest report by Asymco, Apple and Samsung accounted for 99 percent of the total mobile phone profits, with HTC taking the remaining 1 percent.

Out of the 99 percent Apple took the majority of it with an astounding 73 percent, with Samsung being left with the remaining 26 percent despite being the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer right now. As mentioned before, HTC took 1 percent out of the total and everybody else, including RIM, Nokia, LG, Motorola and Sony Mobile reported a loss in the first quarter.

With the launch of the Galaxy S III and the HTC One series phones, these two are likely to expand their share of profits over the coming quarters. However, it is going to take quite a bit of effort to dethrone Apple from the number one position, which it has managed to maintain despite not having the greatest market share.
