Our Gorgeous Little Friend, Skippy Lim (Auckland, New Zealand)

It is very challenging to try to a picture or portait for a every-moving Jack Russell. I managed to grab the chance to take a photo of Skippy, our dearest family pet during his rare moment of sitting still. I was talking to him while focusing my digital SLR camera on him, asking him "You enjoy your yummy food? Want to take a walk later on?" He responded with his head tilting left and right.

These are the first few pictures I took of Skippy, our darling little pet at home with digital SLR camera. It was a cold winter morning and the temperature was hovering around four degree celcious I am not quite use to handle digital SLR camera now and hope my skills will improve with time. Skippy Lim at Home! Our dearest and cutest doggie! Auckland, New Zealand.

These picture were taken about three weeks ago. Skippy "joined" us for a snack at the kitchen table at home. The funny thing is that the way he sits is different. Dog always sit on their butts, but Skippy sits side way on his butt! He has good manners as he does not jump on the table or beg for food when we are having our snacks. He just sit there a observe what is going on.

NZ dog awarded posthumous honour (Aukland, New Zealand, GDI)

George was hailed as a "brilliant little dog" by his owner. A dog which died protecting a group of children from two pitbull terriers in New Zealand has been given the highest honour for animals. George, a Jack Russell from Manaia, in Taranaki on New Zealand's North Island, fended off the two dogs, allowing the children to escape. But he was badly hurt in the April 2007 incident and had to be put down. His owner, Alan Gay, was presented with the PDSA gold medal by New Zealand's Governor-General Anand Satyanand. Mr Gay paid tribute to his pet. "He was a brilliant little dog, intelligent. You couldn't insult him. I'd call him 'dipstick' and he wouldn't have anything to do with me," he told TVNZ. George is the first dog from New Zealand to receive the honour, which is the equivalent of the Commonwealth's highest civilian honour, the George Cross.
